Today I as designing kitchen layouts and realized realized that most kitchen designs fall into these 5 essential categories:
Linear
Parallel
Galley
L-Shaped
U-shaped
A common variation of these designs includes adding a kitchen island. Of course, they vary in size too!
1. A linear kitchen has a single bank of cabinets along one wall.
2. This parallel kitchen layout has a bank of cabinets along a wall and a parallel peninsula.
3. A galley kitchen has banks of counters along two parallel walls
An L-shaped kitchen has two banks of cabinets that meet at corner.
A U-shaped kitchen is similar to a galley kitchen but has cabinetry on three sides.
